400/54 Premium Shielded NMR Magnet System Product Overview

Errors and Alarms

If the unit detects an error or a low cryogen level, the
display flashes to indicate that attention is required.

The instrument has a measurement cycle period of 5
seconds, at which time it measures the level of liquid
nitrogen and then rewrites the display. Helium level is read
automatically three times daily, at 01:00 hrs, 09:00 hrs, 17:00
hrs. If the helium part of the display flashes a message “c”,
then the monitor requires calibration. In the unlikely event
that you see this message, contact Agilent for assistance.

Any command change takes effect at the end of the next
5- second cycle. Therefore, it can take up to 3 cycles (15
seconds) to accept a new menu value and remeasure. Then
on the final cycle error, conditions are reassessed.

•

Nitrogen errors or alarms cause the left side of the
display to flash.

•

Helium errors or alarms cause the right side of the
display to flash.

•

When the entire display flashes, there is a problem with

both

cryogens.

When the display is flashing an error, the display is
periodically held steady for a few seconds, which allows you
to more easily read the display and access the menus.

Using the menu system causes the flashing to stop. The
flashing resumes when you exit the menu. If you alter a
menu item value that brings the flashing to an end, there is
a delay of at least 10 seconds before the instrument
remeasures and refreshes the display flash status.

If the Helium display is flashing and a parameter was
altered, you must manually perform a Helium read in the
USER menu to force an update of the Helium environment.
