DISPLAY MESSAGES
Check for H<>X Cable Reversal
The DTR
®
Model 8510 may have detected a potentially hazardous step-
up condition while attempting to test the transformer as connected. Verify
connections.
High Excitation Current
Check test cable connections for inadvertent short circuits. Check for
shorted transformer windings.
Low Battery
As the batteries are drained during use, the green LED will begin to flash
when the battery voltage reaches a pre-determined threshold. The tests
can be run as usual during this time but the batteries will soon need to be
charged.
As the batteries reach a predetermined threshold, LOW BATTERY indica
-
tion will appear on the display. All the buttons will be non-operational now.
The batteries must be recharged in order to continue testing.
NOTE:
The DTR
®
Model 8510 charges in <4 hours. The instrument can
not be used to test when the batteries are charging.
X Circuit CONT or OPEN
The ------ indication is for CONT (Closed switch). It indicates a good
connection.
The --/-- indication is for OPEN (Open switch). It indicates a poor or open
connection.
The message “Check X Connection” will be displayed.
