Watching a Videotape
1. Turn on the Unit, use the FUNCTION button on
the remote control or on the front panel to select
“AV_IN”.
2. Turn on your TV and follow the instructions included
with it to select the VIDEO input which corresponds
to the VIDEO IN jack that is connected to the Unit.
Note:
• If VCR Audio is mono, surround speakers sound level
will be low.
CONNECTING ANOTHER SOURCE
Analogue connections
Using the Audio cable (not supplied) connect the left/
right AUDIO OUT jacks on your unit to the AUDIO IN jack
of the stereo system.
Digital connection
Using the Coaxial Digital Audio cable (not supplied),
connect the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT on your Unit to the
DIGITAL AUDIO IN jack on your other device.
Listening via another audio device
1. Turn on the Unit.
2. Turn on your audio device and follow the instructions
included with it to select the AUDIO IN or DIGITAL IN
function.
Note:
• When you connect the Unit to other equipment,
be sure to turn off the power and unplug all of the
equipment fromthe wall outlet before making any
connection.
• If the external equipment is a television and this
audio system is closed to it, you may experience
interference if the tuner function is selected while the
television is working.
• If you have a stereo VCR, make sure you set it in
stereo mode.
• Due to copyright protection, DVD movies cannot be
copied. If you copy a DVD movie onto a videotape,
the resulting copy will be unclear, with poor sound
quality. This is NOT caused by a defective DVD
system.
• Refer to the instruction manual of the conencted
equipment as well.
Turning on the DVD Player and the TV
1. Press the Standby/On button on the remote control
or the Function button or the Play button to switch
on the device.
2. Switch on your TV. (Button POWER)
3. Select the AV channel.
4. If the device was connected correctly with the TV, the
screen will display the DVD logo as illustrated.
Notes:
• Whenever no disc or disc stop for 30 minutes, the
system will be turned to POWER standby mode
automatically.
• The LED of standby will be turned on while the unit is
at standby mode.
POWER CORD CONNECTION
• Make sure that all the components and speakers are
connected correctly.
• Be sure the AC power cord is disconnected and all
functions are off before making connections.
• When you are not going to use the Unit for a long
period of time, disconnect the power cord.
ADJUSTING THE SOUND
To adjust the sound quality
Press the Sound button to select an equalisation mode
(LEFT, RIGHT, SUB, BASS und TREBLE). Press the
cursor button (

) to adjust the level.
LEFT:
Level left speaker
RIGHT:
Level right speaker
SUB:
Level Subwoofer
BASS:
the low range of sounds
TREBLE:
the high range of sounds
Dolby Digital
Dolby Digital is a sound system developed by Dolby
Laboratories Inc. that gives movie theatre ambience
to audio output when the Unit is connected to a Dolby
Digital 5.1 channel processor or amplifi er. This Unit
automatically recognizes DVDs that have been recorded
with Dolby Digital.
As not all DVDs are recorded in this mode be sure they
feature this logo when purchasing a DVD.
