Valve contamination. The pressure relief valve may become contaminated with water

debris causing the valve not to close properly. If this is the case, flushing the valve for a

moment will cleanse the seat and allow it to work properly. If flushing the valve does not

remedy the leaking, the valve must be replaced.

Extreme internal system pressure. If the internal pressure in the Sentra unit is

elevated, the pressure relief valve will leak as a safety measure to dissipate excessive

pressure. If this is the case, the operator must determine why the system internal

pressure is excessive and correct the condition.
