TESTING THE INSTALLATION
If you have installed the system correctly, it
will
work first time!
The user audio inputs and outputs of this system are all at about 0db (approximately
1000mV peak-to-peak). In order to test audio
out
of the system (from the call-points’
microphone) you may connect an oscilloscope to the “audio out” terminals on the rear of
the AVPSU4. If an oscilloscope is not available, the signal can be applied to a small,
battery powered amplifier, if one is available.
In order to test audio
in
to the system (to the call-points’ loudspeaker) you may connect
the headphone output of, say, a personal CD or MP3 player to the “audio in” terminals on
the rear of the AVPSU4 (take care to keep the output level of the audio source low by
turning the volume control down to a minimal setting). This will probably give a “noisy”
output, but will prove whether the system is working or not.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Advanced Visual Solutions Ltd provide full technical support for our products. We have
two, fully equipped “central station” workstations, running the latest version of ADPRO
video central gold software. We can therefore connect to ADPRO remote transmitters,
providing that they are on standard PSTN telephone lines (modem), standard ISDN lines
(terminal adapter) or standard ADSL (broadband) connections. We
cannot
connect via a
clients’ VPN (Virtual Private Network), as these are (as the name suggests), private!
We have provided this service free of charge for several years, and at our own expense. It
is a service to assist installation and/or service engineers in locating faults, or to “test” a
working
new installation, prior to going live to a monitoring centre.
Please do not abuse this facility.
It is NOT there to provide free training to installers or
“engineers” who are not sufficiently qualified or experienced to handle the job!
We do not wish to be placed into a situation where we have to make a charge for technical
support, as most of our customers use this facility reasonably and effectively.
If you need support, please call us on 01442 252280
