Description
The HD-10 BRI MUX provides up to ten 2B+D BRI
loops for transport over T1 carrier facilities. This
versatile unit can operate in both industry standard
3-DS0 mode and the ADTRAN proprietary channel
4:1 TDM mode.
In the 3-DS0 mode the HD-10 is compatible with any
industry standard compliant ISDN channel bank. In
the 4:1 TDM mode the unit is compatible with any
member of the ADTRAN BR1/10 product family
operating on the T1 carrier facility.
The HD-10 can be deployed in the ADTRAN multiple
mount shelf or the ADTRAN single mount housing.
The 19-inch HD-10 multiple mount shelf is designed
for and accommodates three horizontally inserted
HD-10 units. The shelf can be mounted in either a
19-inch or 23-inch rack. Refer to the Shelf I&M
Practice, document number 61150095L1-5, for details.
The HD-10 single mount housing accommodates a
single HD-10 unit. It is designed for wall mounting.
Refer to the Housing I&M Practice, document number
61150095L1-5, for details.
2. INSTALLATION
Upon unpacking the unit, inspect it for damage. If
damage is noted, file a claim with the carrier then
contact ADTRAN Customer Service (see Section 7,
Warranty and Customer Service).
The HD-10 inserts in any slot of the 19-inch HD-10
shelf. To install correctly, hold the unit by the
faceplate while supporting the bottom side. Align the
card edges to the support grooves and insert the unit
until the edge connector seats firmly into the
backplane. A similar process applies to the standalone
housing.
