Installation and Maintenance
1. GENERAL
This practice provides installation and maintenance
procedures for the ADTRAN E220 HD-10 BRI MUX
(
Figure 1
).
A listing of part numbers for relevant devices and
documents referenced in this Practice is in the
Specifications table.
Revision History
Document has been revised to show default switch
settings and add U-TMG mode.
Features
The HD-10 BRI MUX features include the following:
• Provides ten ISDN U-interfaces that meet all
Layer 1 requirements as specified in
ANSI T1.601-1992.
• Responds to B1, B2, and 2B+D loopbacks
through the embedded operations channel.

• Supports superframe and extended superframe
formats.
• Supports AMI and B8ZS line coding.
• Provides DB-9 terminal interface for
provisioning, testing, and performance
monitoring.
• Provides bilateral loopback capability activated
from faceplate switch.
• Provides Local, Loop, External, and CAU timing
options.
• Provides an alarm relay and alarm cutoff switch.
• Provides bank alarm LED for indicating bank
alarm conditions.
• Compliant with FCC, NEBS Level 3, and UL.
