INSTRuCTOR NOTES
Draw attention to the margin tips and notes and the sections “Working with photos
and frames” and “Adjusting a photo inside a frame” which present basic skills appli-
cable to any Create mode project. Encourage your students to explore the Layout,
Artwork, and Test tabs.
Producing a Photo Book
This exercise is slightly more complex, but is still quite self explanatory. Draw atten-
tion to the fact that the order of images in the Project Bin will affect their place-
ment within any project template.
Assembling a photo collage
This is the longest and most involved of the three projects but the exercises are easy
to follow and will not require a lot of explanation. Be sure to draw attention to the
margin tips and notes.
Point out the possibilities for using Filters and Photo Effects as well as the preset
Layer Styles available on the Effects tab.

1
A theme is a layout template that may include a background, photo frames, text
styles, and other content from the artwork libraries. Any of these items can be
rearranged, replaces, or deleted.
2
To add pages to a photobook project, click the New Pages button at the top
of the Pages tab. A new spread is added to the project, with the same layout
characteristics as the preceding pages.
3
You can extend the content available in the artwork library by upgrading your
free Photoshop.com account to Plus membership.
