Driver Installation

Driver Installation on Windows NT

Windows NT may install the standard VGA driver. It is
recommended that the user manually installs the most updated
driver, which can be found on the ADLINK CD to ensure
compatibility. After installing Windows NT, please update to the
new drivers by following the instructions below:

1. From the

Control Panel

, double-click on the

Display

icon.

2. Click the

Settings

tab, click

Display Type…

, click

Change…

3. Insert the ADLINK CD and click

Have Disk

.

4. Browse for the

SM721 driver

which is located in the

following path:

X:\CHIPDRV\VGA\SM721\WINNT40

,

highlight

smisetup.inf

, click

OPEN

then

OK

.

5. A windows will display the

Silicon Motion Lynx Family

,

click

OK

, then

Yes

to continue.

6. An Installation Driver window will appear indicating that

installation was successful, click

OK

to continue.

7. Click the

Close

button.

8. Click

Close

. Restart the computer to activate the new

driver.

Note:

If the Windows NT service pack is not installed, the
VGA/AGP drivers may fail to function, even after
installing the VGA/AGP drivers. It is recommended
that the user installs NT service pack version 4 or
higher to enable APG capability.
