9. Maintenance – Grundfos UPM3 Flex 130 AS Pump
The following steps should be followed if
servicing the Grundfos UPM3 Flex 130 AS pump:
DANGER
Electric shock

• Before starting any work at the pump,
switch off the power supply. Make
sure that the power supply cannot be
switched on accidentally.
• Be aware that capacitors will be live
up to 30 seconds after the power
supply has been switched off.

• Before dismantling the complete
pump set, switch off the power
supply at least 5 minutes prior to
commencing work and ensure that
it cannot be switched on again
unintentionally.
WARNING
Strong magnetic fi eld in the rotor area
Danger of death for persons with
pacemaker.
• Keep a safety distance of at least
0.3m during disassembly.
CAUTION
Hot surface
Minor or moderate personal injury.
• Before starting to work on the pump,
let the pump casing cool down to
ambient temperature.
All service work must be carried out by
an instructed service technician.
Before dismantling the pump, drain the
system and close the isolating valves on
the unit.
Maintaining the product
UPM3 pumps are maintenance-free. However,
it might be necessary to deblock or to open the
pump, for example, if it is blocked by impurities.
De-blocking is possible by opening the de-
blocking screw at the front.
1. Unscrew the de-blocking screw at the front
of the pump head.

2. De-block the pump with a screwdriver.
Cleaning
If the impeller or pump housing has to be
cleaned from impurities, proceed as follows:
1. Drain the sidestream unit and close the
isolating valves.

2. Remove the screws that hold the pump head.
3. Check impeller and pump housing and
remove the impurities.
4. Place the pump head in the desired position,
fi t the screws and tighten them securely.

This product assembly contains valuable materials which can be recovered or recycled. At the end
