1. If you want to operate the scale with the AC
adapter

instead of batteries, plug the AC
adapter into the display/control unit

Fig. 1
).
2. Plug the AC adapter into a properly installed
socket.
Inserting batteries in the display / control unit
WARNING!
Risk of explosion or fire!
Incorrect installation of batteries can lead to a short circuit or over-
load, causing a rapid battery temperature rise. Battery overheating
may lead to gas or battery fluid leakage or explosion, which, in turn,
may result in injury.

Make sure that the polarity is correct when inserting the batter-
ies.
In addition to running the scale on mains power using the supplied AC adapter, it can
also be operated from batteries. If you would like to operate the scale using batteries,
you must unplug the AC adapter from the scale.
