The installer begins loading the software onto the Linux Guest OS. After displaying a series
of messages, it prompts for email recipients and the notification type.

For Notification Type, I=Error, Warning & Informational, W=Error & Warning, E=Error.

When you see the message “Installation Completed Successfully,” reboot the system.

Verify the installation: in the Linux Guest OS, open a terminal window as root, then type:
arcconf help
A list of commands displays if the installation was successful.
Note:
You will see the message “Unable to get credentials for ESX CIMOM” if you entered
the Hypervisor credentials incorrectly during installation. Use the ARCCONF
SETVMCREDENTIAL command to reset the credentials; for details, see
page 36

Managing Email Notifications on a Linux Guest OS
After you install Remote ARCCONF on a Linux Guest OS, you can use the configUtil.sh utility
to manage email notifications in your system, such as adding or removing email recipients or
configuring SMTP server settings.
To manage email notifications on a Linux Guest OS:

Change to the /usr/RemoteArcconf directory, then type this command:
chmod +x configUtil.sh
