checks be carried out annually by competent person/s.

on is disturbed. If the appliance repeatedly shuts o

restarted (as detailed in the ‘Ligh

ng instruc

ons’ sec
�
on), a GAS SAFE registered engineer
should be contacted to examine the appliance and installa
�
on.
Inform the user to always observe the appliance when ligh
�
ng, once the pilot is lit the main
valve then opens to ‘High rate’ allowing gas through to the main burner. The main burner
should then light within 6 seconds
if this does not happen then the
appliance should be
turned o
ff
allowing 5 minutes before a
�
emp
�
ng to relight.
Warn the user of the following points:
• That all parts of the appliance will become hot while the appliance is running, so it is
recommended that a guard conforming to BS8423: 2002 be used for the protec
�
on of
young children, aged or in
fi
rm persons.
• Not to stand too close to the appliance for prolonged periods of
�
me; loose clothing
is par
�
cularly at risk of burning, and that rubbish cannot be burned in the unit.
• Against placing combus
�
ble material directly in front of the appliance. Floor
coverings such as carpets, are considered to be acceptable.
Ensure the installer details are
fi
lled in.
