Pre-Cleaning and Disinfection Frequency
If you run the test by yourself, you should pre-clean and disinfect your meter
and lancing device periodically, such as at minimum of once a week, or
whenever you feel the need to disinfect your meter and lancing device. If
someone else assists you to run the test, the people who assist you or
yourself should pre-clean and disinfect your meter and lancing device prior to
each testing. The meter and lancing device disinfection process has been
validated for 4.5 years of meter and lancing device usage based on daily
cleaning and disinfection processes. (A total of 1,645 cycles for each cleaning
and disinfection process were tested.) This is to ensure your meter and
lancing device can operate properly even with disinfection process applied
during the 4.5 years of meter and lancing device life.
Your meter and lancing device have been tested to withstand the pre-cleaning
and disinfection process during the 4.5 year meter and lancing device life
based on the operation frequency mentioned above. You should always check
for the existing of all display segments for normal meter electronics operation
when the meter is turned on each time before testing. However, if you have
