Appendix B: SATA RAID configuration

One of the hard drives in
a mirrored (RAID 1) array
has failed.

Replace the failed drive with another drive that
has the same or greater capacity.

A new drive with no
configuration is installed
into the bay which is
already part of a
mirrored (RAID 1) array.

Run the RAID configuration utility to configure
the new drive. Mark the drive as one of the
following:

• Failed - If the AutoRebuild option is disabled

in the CU.

• Rebuilding - If the AutoRebuild option is

enabled in the CU.

A new drive with no
configuration is installed
into the bay which is
already part or not part
(is by itself) of a striped
(RAID 0) array.

Run the RAID configuration utility to configure
the new drive.
