Changing the Vocabulary
To change the active vocabulary, do the following:
1.
Select
Menu
>
Toolbox
>
Vocabulary
>
Select a Vocabulary
. The Select a Vocabulary window lists
available vocabulary language systems and highlights the current vocabulary.
2.
Select a language system. The Vocabularies window lists the vocabularies that are available in that
language system.
3.
Select the
Choose
button for the vocabulary you want to open. The Choose button changes to a
checkmark.
4.
Select
Close
. The vocabulary you selected is now active.
Changingthe Voice
You can select different voices for the main voice and prompt voice.
1.
Select
Menu
>
Toolbox
>
User Settings
>
Voice
. Then select
Main Voice
or
Prompt Voice
.
2.
Select
Change Voice
. The Change Main Voice or Change Prompt Voice window opens. Select
Male
or
Female
. The current voice shows a checkmark.
3.
Select
Try it
for a voice you want to try. Try additional voices until you find the one you want.
4.
When you find the voice you want, select
Choose
for that voice. The Voice window opens.
5.
Adjust the speech rate, treble, and bass. Values for each range from 1 to 10.
6.
To test the voice after making changes, select
Try Voice
.
7.
Continue to change settings and test the results.
8.
When you are satisfied with the voice, the speech rate, and the treble and bass levels, select
Finished
.
Changing the Pronunciation of Words
This procedure changes pronunciations for the current voice. If you select a different voice, the changes
will not apply to the new voice.
1.
Select
Menu
>
Toolbox
>
User Settings
>
Voice
. Then select
Main Voice
or
Prompt Voice
.
2.
Select
Edit a Pronunciation
.
3.
Select the
Enter word
field to open a keyboard. Enter the word you want to correct and select the
keyboard
Finished
button.
4.
Select the
Enter phonetic spelling
field to open a keyboard. Enter a phonetic spelling for the
word.Select the keyboard
Finished
button. To listen to the pronunciation, select
Try it
.
