1 • DESCRIPTION
The KINETEC 6080 is used for passive mobilization of the Elbow, providing the following motion:
• Flexion-extension of the Elbow from 0° to 135°.
• Simultaneous 90° pronation and 90° supination with flexion-extension.
A-Upper arm support • B-Forearm support • C-Telescopic column • D-Motor • E-Swiveling handle • F-Control box • G-Base.
2 • ASSEMBLY
- Attach the telescopic column (C) to the red base (G) with the lock nut and the washer.
- Place the wire basket (1) over the telescopic column (C).
- Attach motor (D) to the telescopic column with the toothed link (2).
- Place the control box (F) on the wire basket (1).
3 • ELECTRICAL CONNECTION: SAFETY FIRST.
The KINETEC 6080 is a Type B Class I machine.
Before plugging in the machine, make certain that the available voltage corresponds to the voltage indicated on the back of
the control box (110 or 240 Vac 50/60Hz).
Connect the cords to the back of the control box as follows:
• Attach the hand control cord (3) to terminal (4).
• Attach the cord (5) from the the control box (6) to the motor (D).
• Attach the power cord (7) to the control box (8).
IMPORTANT:
Cords (3) and (5) must be securely fastened.
Check to be sure that the plug fits the socket being used.
The socket must be grounded.
Use only the power cord delivered with the KINETEC machine.
Make sure that the power cords are not tangled during operation.
Fuse change:
Warning: Replace the fuse (9) with one of the same type and value (see value indicated on the control box (F)).
4 • SAFETY
The healthcare professional determines the CPM protocol to be used (set up, duration and frequency of each session).
The patient must understand the Start/Stop/Reverse function of the hand control.
The KINETEC 6080 unit is CE marked.
DANGER: Risk of explosion if used with flammable anesthetics.
5 • START UP
Turn on the power switch (10). The green light will turn on.
START / STOP / REVERSE function
The KINETEC 6080 is equipped with a START/STOP/REVERSE function:
- Press the button once, the machine starts.
- Press the button twice, the machine stops
- Press the button a third time, the machine reverses direction..
IMPORTANT
: for maximum safety, the hand control should always be given to the patient.
Adjusting the SPEED
The SPEED is set by turning the button (12). Minimum speed is all the way to the left;
maximum speed is all the way to the right.
The speed can be modified while the machine is running or stationary.
6 • ADJUSTING THE LIMITS
The physician positions the cursors (13) and (14) on the threaded rod and locks them with the safety nuts (15) and (16).
The graduated scale placed on the screw drive casing gives only an approximate measurement.
7 • USE OF THE KINETEC HYGIENIC PADS
Place the pads (17) and (18) on the adhesive parts of the forearm and arm support, with the sponge side up.
FOR OPTIMAL HYGIENE, A NEW SET OF PADS SHOULD BE USED FOR EACH PATIENT.
The straps (19) and (20) are used for holding patient’s arm on the machine. Do not use strap (19) when machine is used
for pronation-supination.

8 • SETTING UP THE PATIENT
Make sure that clean pads are on the machine (see section 7 and 12).
Place the patient comfortably in a sitting or reclining position.
Place arm into the machine, in the maximum tolerable flexion.
Adjust the height ot the machine on the telescopic column (C) and the incline of the toothed link (2).
Adjust the joint axis of elbow and the joint axle of the machine.
Lock casters of base (G).
Place the pronation-supination hand grip (E) in the palm of hand with hand in supine position.
Fix the top of arm with the strap (20)(Fig.7)
