Setting the technical key
3.
In the
Set Technical Key
dialog box, select the technical key to be used. There
are three alternatives.
•
Use the technical key in the IED
•
Use the technical key defined for the IED object in PCM600
•
Set a user-defined technical key, which changes the technical key for both
the physical IED and IED object in PCM600
4.
Click
OK
to confirm the selection.
It is not possible to set a user-defined name or select
Technical
key in IED
if the value is already given to another IED object in
the PCM600 project. An error message is displayed if this
happens.
3.5
Communication between PCM600 and protection
relay
The communication between the protection relay and PCM600 is independent of the
used communication protocol within the substation or to the NCC.
All communication is done over Ethernet using either IEC 61850 or the FTP/FTPS
protocol. The Ethernet connector can be used.
When an Ethernet-based station protocol is used, the same Ethernet port and IP
address can be used for PCM600 communication.
Two basic variants have to be considered for the connection between PCM600 and the
protection relay.
