8.1  Drive on level ground / overcoming obstacles

Set in neutral position (see 

Chapter 6.4)

 

» Retract climbers completely.

Pull the c-max U1 carefully 

backwards against curbs/

obstacles if you want to over-

come them.

Driving on level ground.

 

» Push c-max U1.

  NOTE - Climbers may not be extended because they could become damaged!

i

  NOTE - Always navigate obstacles backwards to avoid damaging the safety brakes!

8.2  Tilting the stair climbing system

  WARNING - Always tilt the c-max U1 when driving on slopes or during the 

 

climbing process! 

Put your foot on the housing 

and tilt the c-max U1 slightly 

towards you.

 

» Device must be balanced.

 

» If there is neither pressure 

nor tension noticeable at 

the handles, the device is 

balanced correctly.

c-max U1 can be moved. 

 

» If you tilt further or too 

much, the safety brakes 

engage and the c-max U1 

can‘t be moved forward any 

more.

Manufacturer’s 

recommendation:

If you are not able to tilt 

the c-max U1 indepen-

dently, use the climbers 

as a 

tipping aid

.

 

» Turn on c-max U1

 

» Press the UP/DOWN 

switch direction UP un-

til the main wheels are 

raised by approx. 1-2 cm 

 

» Tilt the c-max U1 

 

» Then retract the climb-

ers completely.

 

» Move the c-max U1
