socket. Now connect the charging plug of the supplied charger to the charging socket of the battery. Then
connect the charger's mains plug to an earth contact socket. The LED on the charger will now turn red. As soon
as the charging process is completed, this LED switches to green. First disconnect the charger from the earth
contact socket and then disconnect the charging plug from the battery socket.
Check:
You can check the battery's charge status in two ways at any time:
a. On battery: Press the button next to the charging socket briefly: you will see several LEDs light up.
b. On the display: When the system is switched on, you will see the charge level indicator as a bar graph.
5 LED/bars indicate 80-100% charge
4 LED/bars indicate 60-80% charge
3 LED/bars indicate 40-60% charge
2 LED/bars indicate 20-40% charge
1 LED/bars represent less than 20% charge.
If none of the LEDs are lit, the battery must be charged immediately.
5.1.4.3 - Detailed instructions - Battery
Read and observe the following safety and warning notices before starting
the battery and before starting the charging process. Failure to comply
with the safety instructions and instructions may damage the product or
result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. The lithium-ion battery
contains chemical substances that may cause dangerous reactions if the
safety instructions listed here are disregarded. The manufacturer is not
liable for any damage caused by non-observance of these instructions.
5.1.4.3.1 Safety and Warnings for Using the Battery
The battery should be fully charged before first use.
The battery may only be operated at temperatures between -10 degrees and +45 degrees Celsius.
Do not expose the battery to heat (e. g. radiators) or fire. External heat exposure can cause the battery to
explode.
In the (unlikely) event of overheating or fire of the battery, it must not come into contact with water or other
liquids under any circumstances. The manufacturers recommend extinguishing with sand as the only expedient
extinguishing agent.
Your pedelec consumes energy every time you use it. Therefore, charge the battery after each use if possible.
The battery must only be used to power the BAFANG components. Any other use beyond this requires the
written permission of the manufacturer.
The battery must not be opened or dismantled. Improper opening or deliberate destruction of the battery may
cause serious injury. In addition, opening the battery will void the warranty.
Never connect the battery contacts in the socket to metallic objects or make sure that the contacts do not come
into contact with metallic objects (e. g. metal chips) under any circumstances.
If the charging socket is dirty, clean it with a clean and dry cloth.
Never immerse the battery in water. Do not expose the battery to temperatures below zero degrees Celsius.
The battery's service life depends on the storage location. Therefore, do not leave the battery (whether inserted
or removed from the pedelec) in a hot place for long periods of time. In particular, the boot of cars standing in
the sun should only be used for transport, but not generally as a place of storage.
The battery must not be exposed to mechanical shocks. For example, if the pedelec has been tilted over and the
battery is dropped directly on the floor, the battery must be checked by the manufacturer. Please contact your
specialist dealer for this purpose. A damaged battery must not be used again.
If the battery is damaged or defective, it must be checked. Please contact the service department and clarify
how to proceed. The faulty/damaged battery must not be used or opened under any circumstances.
Always ensure that the battery is kept clean and dry.
