It takes a long me to
get hot water at the
fi
xtures.
• The me it takes to deliver hot water from the water heater to your
fi
xtures depends on the
length of piping between the two. The longer the distance or the bigger the pipes, the longer it
will take to get hot water.
• If using the recircula on pump, check the se ngs to verify the Pump Timers are ac ve.
The water is not hot
enough.
• Check the set temperature of the water heater and adjust, if necessary.
• Check cross plumbing between the cold water lines and hot water lines.
• Is the gas supply valve open fully?
• Is the gas line sized properly?
• Is the gas supply pressure su
ffi
cient?
• Check if the Point-of-Use mixing valves are set correctly, if they are installed.
The water is too hot.
• Is the set temperature set too high?
The hot water is not
available when a
fi
xture is opened.
• Make sure the unit has 120 VAC, 60 Hz power supply.
• Verify the opera on se ng is ON by viewing the UIM. If the set temperature is showing or
you press the UP arrow to display the set temperature, then the opera on se ng is ON. If the
display is blank and nothing appears when pressing the UP bu on, then the opera on state is
set to OFF. Press the ON/OFF bu on to ac vate the heater. The set temperature will display
when set to ON.
• Is the gas supply valve open fully and within the allowable gas pressure range?
• Is the water supply valve open fully?
• Is the
fi
lter on the cold water inlet clean?
• Is the hot water
fi
xture su
ffi
ciently open to draw at least 0.4 GPM
(1.5 L/min) through the water heater?
• Is the unit frozen?
• Is there enough gas in the tank / cylinder? (For Propane models)
The hot water turns
cold and stays cold.
• Is the
fl
ow rate enough to keep the water heater running?
• If there is a recircula on system installed, does the recircula on line have
enough check valves?
• Is the gas supply valve open fully?
• Is the
fi
lter on the cold water inlet clean?
• Are the
fi
xtures clean of debris and obstruc ons?
Fluctua on in hot
water temperature.
• Is the
fi
lter on the cold water inlet clean?
• Is the gas line sized properly?
• Is the supply gas pressure su
ffi
cient?
• Check for cross connec on between the cold water lines and hot water lines.

Unit does not ignite
when water goes
through the unit.
• Is the
fl
ow rate over 0.4 GPM (1.5 L/min)?
• Check for the
fi
lter on the cold water inlet.
• Check for reverse connec on and cross connec on.
• If you use the remote controller and/or built-in controller, is the power bu on
turned
on?
• Check if the inlet temperature is too high. If it is too close to the set temperature,
the water heater will not ac vate.
The fan motor is
s ll spinning a er
opera on has
stopped.
• This is normal. A er opera on has stopped, the fan motor keeps running
in order to re-ignite quickly, as well as purge all the
exhaust gas out of the
fl
ue.
