A 100uf capacitor may be required across pins 8 (+) and 14 (-) of the SKART
connector in some TVs. This eliminates noise on the switching signal.
7.1.3
S-Video Monitors
Some ATI VGA cards have a standard S-Video socket on the card, other are
supplied with an adapter. Use a standard cable to connect this to the S-Video input
on the TV.
The output o f the video card is either 640x480 VGA, or NTSC.
7.2
Keypad Extension Cables
When using the ALS board as a Magicscore upgrade, it may be necessary to extend
the keypad cables by a foot or so.
Extension cables can be easily and quickly made by using some flat ribbon, and
male and female IDC connectors. These connectors are simply clamped onto the
ribbon cable, the contacts pierce the cable and make a connection.
