Using your Trim Saw
Switching on and off
Attach the battery pack (1).
To switch on, press the lock off button (4) from either side,
press the trigger switch (11) and then release the lock off
button. Keep the trigger switch depressed.
To switch off, release the trigger switch.
WARNING.
The tool runs for approximately 2 seconds after
it has been switched off. Let the motor come to a complete
standstill before setting the tool down.
Adjusting the cutting depth
CAUTION.
Always ensure
that the saw is switched off and
the battery is removed before
making any adjustments.
Ensure that the saw is facing
away from you.
Loosen the depth adjustment
locking knob (3).
Hold the base plate (12)
flat against the edge of the
workpiece and lift the body
of the saw until the blade is
at the required depth. The
correct depth is set when the
blade does not protrude more
than 1/4” (6.35 mm) below the
material being cut.
Tighten the depth adjustment locking knob (3).
Making a cut
Mark the line of cut on the workpiece. Adjust the depth of
cut as required.
When making 90° cross or rip cuts, align your line of cut
with the centre side of the diamond-shaped hole in the front
of the shoe.
Rest the front edge of the base
on the work piece.
Start the motor by depressing
the lock-off button (4) and
squeezing the trigger switch
(11). Always let the blade reach
full speed (approximately 2
seconds) before you begin to
cut into the work piece.
Slowly push the saw forward using both hands.
When making a cut always use steady, even pressure.
Forcing the saw causes rough cuts and could shorten the
life of the saw or cause kickback. Allow the blade and the
saw to do the work.
After completing your cut, release the trigger switch and
allow the blade to come to a complete stop. Do not remove
the saw from the workpiece while the blade is moving.
NOTE.
Since blade thickness varies, always make a trial
cut in scrap material along the guideline to determine how
much, if any, the guideline must be offset to get an
accurate cut.
