You need to be logged on as a root user to install the softwa re.
1 . If the system is alre a dy on, enter s u [E N T E R]. You will be
p rompted for the root passwo rd. O t h e r w i s e, p ower up the system,
and enter the root passwo rd when pro m p t e d.
2 . I n s e rt the CD into the CD-ROM drive.
3 . At the pro m p t , enter d f [E N T E R] to ve rify that ‘ m e d i a d ’ is ru n n i n g.
If ‘ m e d i a d ’ is not ru n n i n g, enter h i nv [E N T E R] to determine the
SCSI add ress of your CD-ROM drive.
4 . Use the m o u n t command to mount the CD-ROM drive. Enter
m o u n t -r /dev / d s k / d k s 1 d # s 7, substituting the SCSI add ress of the
C D - ROM drive for the “ # ” ch a ra c t e r, and press [ E N T E R ].
5 . For systems using the IRIXª 6.5 operating system, enter
inst -f /CDRO M / I R I X / 6 . 5 / d i s t [ E N T E R ]
6 . Enter go [ E N T E R ].
7 . Enter q u i t [ E N T E R ] to complete installat i o n .
8 . R eboot the system by entering s h u t d own -go [E N T E R] .
Solaris
1 . If the system is alre a dy on, enter s u [E N T E R]. You will be
p rompted for the root passwo rd. O t h e r w i s e, p ower up the system,
and enter the root passwo rd when pro m p t e d.
2 . Place the CD in the CD-ROM drive. We recommended that you use
the command ‘vo l ch e ck’to mount the CD-ROM drive. Enter:
