Installing the driver for HP-UX 10.20 or lat e r :
N o t e : The fo l l owing examples assume that you mounted the CD-ROM in
the ‘/ c d ro m’ d i re c t o ry. Otherwise, m a ke adjustments to the fo l l ow i n g
commands as necessary :
1 . Run the standard HPUX sw i n s t a l l p rogram to install the system
s o f t wa re, rebuild the ke rnel and reboot. Enter:
# swinstall -s /cdrom/HPUX -x softwa re _ v i ew = p ro d u c t s
[ E N T E R ] ( This command should be on one line. )
2 . Fo l l owing standard swinstall pra c t i c e s , install the softwa re pro d u c t
‘M Q F E _ 1 0 2 0’ .
3 . The final stage of the swinstall process will reboot your system with
a new ke rnel that contains the ‘m fl’ d rive r. The new netwo rk interfa c e
names are ‘m fl’. After the computer has reb o o t e d, l ogin again as a
root user and ve rify that the new interface is present by using the
‘i f c o n fig’ c o m m a n d. Enter this command:
# ifconfig mfl0 [ENTER]
