CAUTION: The V6000/V6100 equipment is classified as Class 1 EN60950
and UL60950 and must be grounded at all times. Units providing power
sockets with three pins must be connected by service personnel to a
socket outlet with a protective grounding connection.
To cable the V6000 or V6100, perform these steps:
1 The equipment must be permanently grounded using an
equipment-grounding conductor. Connect an electrically grounded strap
of 16 AWG wire (minimum) to the chassis grounding screw (located on
the rear panel) using the supplied washer. The connection to the
protective grounding must be in accordance with the regulations
enforced in the country of installation.
2 For BRI interfaces, a BRI port can be configured either as TE (Terminal
Equipment = User Side) or NT (Network Termination = Network Side). The
pinout varies according to the configuration. See
Figure 2 for details.

When in NT mode the BRI port drives a nominal voltage value of 38 V
with limited current supply of up to 100 mA. The voltage is of Power
Source 1 type (line voltage).
WARNING: To protect against electrical shock and fire, use a 26 AWG
min wire to connect T1 or E1 ports to the PSTN.
