Installing the NDIS 3.x Driver 4-11
1 Start Windows 95.
A message appears, saying that new hardware has been
found. If this message does not appear, see Chapter 5.
2 When the New Hardware Found dialog box appears,
select Driver from disk provided by hardware
manufacturer and click OK.
The Install from Disk dialog box appears.
3 Insert the EtherDisk diskette in drive A and click OK.
Windows 95 copies the needed files from the EtherDisk
diskette. You are then prompted for the Windows 95
diskettes or CD.
4 Select the Fast EtherLink ISA NIC from the list
of adapters.
A dialog box appears, asking if you want to reboot
your PC.
5 Remove the EtherDisk diskette and reboot the PC.
This completes the NDIS 3 driver installation for Windows
95.
Confirming Installation
To confirm that the 3C515-TX NIC is properly installed in
your PC running Windows 95, proceed as follows:
1 Double-click the My Computer icon.
2 Double-click the Control Panel icon.
3 Double-click the System icon.
The System Properties box appears, detailing your
system setup.
4 Click the Device Manager tab.
A list of devices appears, arranged by type.
5 Double-click the Network Adapters icon.
The name of the installed 3Com NIC appears:
Fast EtherLink ISA
This confirms the 3C515-TX NIC’s installation.
