Troubleshooting
LEDs can help you verify the state of the 4-port Gigabit Ethernet Layer 3
Switching Module (GBIC) or its ports. See Table 6.
Table 6 Module and Port Status LED Indicators
LED State and Color Description
Module Status Green Power is on (normal operation).
Off The module is not receiving power, or the
module is inoperative in some way.
(During initialization, the LED may be off for
several seconds at a time. This is normal and
does not indicate a lack of power.)
Flashing Green Diagnostic test, software boot, or software
download is in progress.
If this LED flashes beyond approximately 7
minutes during the initialization period, the
diagnostic tests may be running in error.
Yellow Diagnostic test failure.
Port Status Green Port is enabled and link is up.
Flashing Green Port is receiving or transmitting packets.
Yellow Port is set to disabled.
Off Cable is not connected or link is down.
