Types of communication:

Serial communication

- used for GSM gateway

configuration from your PC using a serial or USB cable.
The serial communication mode is suitable for the initial
setup of the gateway and detailed tracing. Configuration
program offers unused COM ports only.

LAN communication

– used for GSM gateway configuration

via the Internet or LAN. Be sure to set the IP address of the
gateway you want to communicate with before
configuration. For the IP address setting procedure refer to
Subs. 8.2. Set the

Time to wait for response [ms]

for

network communication. The default value of this
parameter is 5,000 ms.

Communication LOG:

In this section is possible to set whether and how the
PC - GSM gateway communication should be saved into a
file.

Click on

OK

to establish connection between your PC and the

GSM gateway.

9.2. Firmware Identification and Upgrade

If you connect the GSM gateway for the first time, please identify
the current firmware version by clicking on

“Gateway control ->

Firmware/Licence”.

The

Firmware/Licence

item offers two

sections. The

Firmware

section (see Fig. 33) helps identify the

current firmware version and upload a new firmware version from
a PC to the gateway. The

Licence

section enables to unlock the

GSM gateway (refer to Subs. 9.3).
