2.2.3 Audio Output Menu
Use the Audio Output menu to check and change the STB’s SPDIF audio settings.
HDMI
Highlight and select this to edit the STB’s HDMI video
settings. Use this when you connect your TV to the
STB via the
HDMI
socket.
Mode of
COMPOSITE
NTSC
This appears only when you select
COMPOSITE
in
the
Device
section.
Select this if your TV supports NTSC (Common in
North and Central America and Japan).
PAL
This appears only when you select
COMPOSITE
in
the
Device
section.
Select this if you are using the
COMPOSITE
option
and your TV supports PAL (common in Europe and
most of the world).
Mode of COMPONENT
This appears only when you select
COMPONENT
in
the
Device
section.
The number in these fields (for example, the number
1080 in “1080i”) refers to the number of vertical lines
displayed. The letter (P or I) refers to the screen
mode:
P
means progressive, and
I
means interlaced.
Select the display mode supported by your television.
Mode of HDMI
This appears only when you select
HDMI
in the
Device
section.
The number in these fields (for example, the number
1080 in “1080i”) refers to the number of vertical lines
displayed. The letter (P or I) refers to the screen
mode:
P
means progressive, and
I
means interlaced.
Select the display mode supported by your television.
Output Aspect
None
Select this to display images without changing their
shape.
Pan and scan
Select this to watch TV or video with a 4:3 aspect ratio
(traditional television).
LetterBox
Select this to watch TV or video with a 16:9 aspect
ratio (widescreen).
Save
Select this to store your changes. You may need to
reboot your STB (use the
ON/OFF
hardware switch)
before the new settings are used.
