Dial Backup
This chapter shows you how to configure Dial Backup for your Prestige
.
5.1 Dial Backup Overview
The Dial Backup port or CON/AUX port can be used in reserve, as a traditional dial-up connection, if the
broadband connection to the WAN port fails. To set up the auxiliary port (Dial Backup or CON/AUX) for
use in the event that the regular WAN connection is dropped, first make sure you have set up the switch and
port connection (see the Hardware Installation chapter), then configure
1. Menu 2 - WAN Setup,
2. Menu 2.1 - Advanced WAN Setup and
3. Menu 11.1 - Remote Node Profile (Backup ISP) as shown next
5.1.1 Configuring Dial Backup in Menu 2
From the main menu, enter 2 to open menu 2.
Menu 2 - WAN Setup
Service Type= Client
Rate Adaption= Enable
Transfer Max Rate(Kbps)= 2312
Transfer Min Rate(Kbps)= 2312
Standard Mode= ANSI(ANNEX_A)
Dial-Backup:
Active= No
Port Speed= 115200
AT Command String:
Init= at&fs0=0
Edit Advanced Setup= No
Press ENTER to Confirm or ESC to Cancel:
