Select the
Enable L2 Table Aging
checkbox and enter the amount of time in seconds (up to
1048575) that the switch remembers MAC address entries. Select “0” to disable L2 table
aging. Click
Apply
to save your configuration changes.
5.1.3 Backup Settings
Backing up your switch configurations allows you to create various “snap shots” of your
device from which you may restore at a later date.
Back up your current switch configuration to a computer using the
Backup Settings
link.
Follow the steps below to back up the current switch configuration.

Save
to display the
Save As
screen.

Choose a location to save the file on your computer from the
Save in
drop-down list box
and type a descriptive name for it in the
File name
list box. Click
Save
to save the
configuration file to your computer.
5.1.4 Restore Settings
Restore a previously saved configuration from your computer to the switch using the
Restore
Settings
screen.

Type the path and file name of the configuration file you wish to restore in the

which you can locate it. After you have specified the file, click
Restore
.
Make sure you are using the proper configuration when you are restoring your configuration.
The file name extension should be “.cfg”. If you attempt to restore a wrong configuration file
the following error message appears.
