2.1 About these instructions
Important information for your safety is specially highlighted. Make sure to observe this information
in order to avoid accidents and damage to the device:

Read all of these operating instructions carefully before starting to use the raclette grill.
Keep these operating instructions in a safe place. If you pass on the raclette grill to a third
party, make sure to include the operating instructions.

2.2 Children and special groups of persons
There is an increased risk of injury for certain groups of persons:
This device may not be used by children. The device and its mains lead must be kept away
from children.
The device may only be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacity
or lacking knowledge and/or experience if they are supervised or have been instructed in the
safe use of the device and understand the resulting dangers.
Keep children away from the packaging material. It poses a risk of suffocation.
Store the device after use in a location that is inaccessible to children. Children are not allowed
to play with the device.
2.3 Fire hazard
Fires can be caused by incorrect handling:
Do not use the device close to flammable materials or materials that could easily melt (e.g.
curtains, blinds, tablecloths).
Minimum distance: 1 metre.
Never cover the device when it is plugged in or cooling down.
Only use heat-resistant fats. Other fats may catch fire. Never extinguish burning fat with water
as this does not combat burning fat but rather just spreads it. Switch the device off (set the
power controller to the “MIN” position), remove the plug from the socket and put out the flames
with a damp cloth.
Take care if you have long hair or are wearing loose jewellery. Keep highly flammable clothing
items (e.g. made of nylon, Dralon or similar) away from the device when switched on.
Never leave the device unattended once it is plugged in.
2.4 Hot surfaces and parts of device
The device generates high temperatures that heat up the surfaces and parts of the device greatly.
There is a considerable danger of burns:
Always place the raclette grill on a stable, horizontal, even surface.
Never put your hand in the area between the pans and the heating element.
Never touch the griddle or stone slab to test whether they have heated up sufficiently.
Only add ingredients to the pans when they are outside of the device.
Only hold the pans by the plastic handle intended for holding.
2.5 In case you detect a fault
A faulty device may lead to damage and injury:

Check the device and its mains lead for damage before using it every time. If you notice da-
mage, contact the manufacturer, its customer service department or a similarly qualified person
immediately. Never use a faulty device or faulty accessories.
If the mains lead is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service
department or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid dangers. Do not try to repair the
device or open it yourself.
