Keyboard & Input Methods
The Keyboard and Input Methods menus let you configure your phone's text input settings.

and touch a keyboard and input
methods option.
Touch
Default
and select an available option to set the default keyboard.
Tick the check box before each input method to enable it for use or disable it.
The
pre-installed input methods include Swype, TouchPal Keyboard, Android keyboard,
and Google voice typing (integrated into the Android keyboard). See

. You can also download and install other input methods.
Touch
(the settings icon) behind each input method to configure its settings.
Speech
Set up voice search and text-to-speech output options.
Voice Search
► Touch
>
> Settings > Language & input > Voice Search
and touch an option
to configure it.
Language:
Select the language you use when entering text by speaking or
searching by speaking.
SafeSearch:
You can use Google SafeSearch filter to block some results when you
use Google search by voice.
Block offensive words:
Replace offensive words with asterisks (*) when you use
Google voice recognition to transcribe your voice into text.
Personalized recognition:
When enabled, your phone will learn your voice and
pronunciation to improve speech recognition accuracy.
Google Account dashboard:
Open your Google Account dashboard in the browser,
where you can manage the data Google collect from you.
Text-to-Speech Output

Text-to-speech output and touch an
option to configure it.
PREFERRED ENGINE:
Select the speech synthesis engine you want to use or
touch
to change its settings. Google Text-to-speech is the default pre-installed
engine.
