Here’s the screen you get when you click on
Network
from the Settings menu:
Most people should pick 3G Preferred as their network preference. 2G is much slower.
Most users should only change the Authorization Type if instructed by their service
provider. This setting determines the protocol used when you log onto their network.
Network Selection is important. Some service providers let you “roam” to other service
providers. Make sure you understand whether there’s any extra cost for this. This can be a
particularly big issue if you use the modem on the border with another country. The Manual
setting is a little more trouble, but it’s best for some people. If you select Manual, the
modem will search for available networks and list the available networks in the table. Select
the network you wish to connect to and click Apply.
