ADDITIONAL INFORMAtION
A.1 Trouble Shooting
There may be various reasons for the abnormal operation of the receiver.
Check the receiver according to the procedures shown below.
If the receiver does not work properly after checking it, please contact the
dealer. Don't open the receiver. It may cause a dangerous situation.
The pow er cord is not
plugged in.
Wrong connection of the
Audio/ Video output of the
receiver to TV.
Wrong connection of the
satellite antenna.
No or Bad signal message
appears.
Audio muting.
Incorrect values of some
t uner paramet ers.
The bat teries of the remote
control are not insert ed or
exhaused.
Check that the power cord is
plugged in to the w all outlet.
Connect the Audio/Video output
of the receiver to TV correctly.
Connect the antenna cable
correctly.
Check other device connected
between LNB and t he receiver,
Press the Mute but ton.
The receiver can't receiver
t he signal.
Check the antenna cable,
replace the cable, or connect the
cable to the receiver tight ly.
Set the values of tuner
parameters correct ly in the
Installation menu.
Check whether the batteries are
insert ed correctly in your remote
control.
Check the batteries, and if
exhausted, replace the batteries
of the remot e control.

A.3 Glossary of Terms
DiSEqC
Digital Satellite Equipment Control.
EPG
Electronic Program Guide. A software that enables viewers to navigate easily among the large number of
channels provided by digital technology, in order to select the service they desire.
FEC
Forward Error Correction. Correction of fault bits in the receiver signal.
LNB(Low-Noise Block converter)
The LNB is an electronic unit mounted on the satellite dish. It receiver the
signals reflected by the dish and converts them to signals that can be used by Satellite receiver.
PIN /number
Personal Identification Number. A four-digit code that is used for locking/unlocking
e.g with the parental control feature.
Parental control
A feature that allows parents to lock programs that they consider unsuitable for children. A
locked channel or program can only be unlocked with the password.
Polarization
Polarization allows several programs to be fitted into same frequency band.
The signals from a satellite are transmitted either with linear(vertical or horizontal) polarization or circular(right
or left) polarization.
RS 232
Serial data port.
SCART
A 21 pin connector is used for connection of satellite receiver, TV and VCR.
