ZODI SHOWER POLE
Enjoy hands free showering.
Adjustable height. Works with
all Zodi showers and Huts.
For first use, your shower may require manual
igniting with a match to burn off oils used in
production. Your shower may also require
manual igniting with a match if igniter gets wet.
Igniter will resume proper operation after drying
out. Manual igniting hole is located on the
right side of the heater. Simply insert lit match
into hole and gently open gas valve nearest to
flame.
Water must be flowing from showerhead before
igniting propane burner. Water must always be
flowing from showerhead when propane heater
is on.
If pump is removed from water, waterflow stops
or decreases, or output water temperature
increases, point showerhead away from body
and turn heater off until proper water flow and
temperature return.
Do not use system indoors. Operating this
appliance in an enclosed space can kill you.
Never use indoors or in an enclosed space
such as a camper, tent, car, boat or home.
This appliance can produce carbon monoxide
which has no odor and can kill you. Use only
outdoors in well ventilated areas at least 15
ft (5M) clear from flammable materials, and
completely clear of flammable liquids or
vapors when igniting & operating.
Check that all hoses are free of kinks. Most
kinks occur during storage or immediately after
use when the hoses are warm. Do not ignite
heater with kinks in pump hose or shower hose.
Hoses must be tightly secured to hose
connections on heater and pump. Once
attached, hoses can remain on shower. Make
sure hoses are tightly secured prior to each use.
If hoses are brittle or loose, trim 2 inches from
hose end, and then fully reattach each hose
to the fittings on the heater and pump, so it is
snug and fits over the entire barb. Check this
prior to each use.
System not designed to heat water over 100°F.
System not designed to heat water for human
consumption.
Allow heater to cool before handling. Do not
place any items including towels, soap or
shampoo on or near heater. Keep children and
pets clear when operating. Do not leave system
unattended when operating.
Propane must be in a vertical position and
safely secured in lid base anchored to firm
flat ground when heating. Do not connect to
remote gas supply.
This system uses a high performance heater.
When heater is turned all the way up, you may
notice hot spots on heater housing or flames
near top of system. If flames exit exhaust holes
at top of heater, turn down propane valve.
Housing color may darken with use but will
usually return after system has cooled. Note:
Discoloration is not covered by warranty.
Under certain conditions hotter water can be
obtained by turning gas valve down.
Test water temperature before use. If too hot,
turn down gas valve. If not hot enough, recycle
water as explained on previous page.
When using the optional garden hose adapter,
adjust water pressure to 1 gallon from the
showerhead in 2 min 30 sec. Water pressure
higher than this will result in cooler water
temperatures.
Visually check burner for blue flame. If flame
is yellow propane tank may be low and may
need replacing.
When heater is on, small water drops caused
by condensation will drip from bottom. This is
normal, heater is NOT leaking.
If using weak batteries, it may be necessary to
apply suction to showerhead to initiate water
flow (heater must be off and cool to the touch).
Always check that batteries are tight in battery
case. If needed, bend tabs in case outward to
improve battery connection. Do not mix old and
new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, carbon-zinc,
or rechargeable batteries.
Do not obstruct or restrict the flow of air for
combustion.
To prevent freeze damage to coil in cold
climates, drain all water from coil by blowing on
showerhead for 10 seconds. Heater must be
turned off and cool to touch.
Remove propane cylinders from system before
and during transport and storage. Do not store
propane indoors.
The pump is a limited life item and will require
replacement with extended use. To extend the
life of the pump: remove pump from water when
not in use, rinse pump with fresh water after
each use, shake pump to remove water after
use and store pump only when completely dry.
Pumps are not covered under warranty. For
best performance, always use new alkaline
batteries in pump and new propane in heater.
Replacement pumps can be found at your
nearest camping retailer or at www.zodi.com.
Improper use can result in injury or death. Zodi
Outback Gear is not responsible for improper
