Taxi Instructions
Normal taxi is provided with throttle, tail wheel and brakes. The right application and
coordination makes taxing easy. Brakes and pedals are placed so they operate together. Let
the speed of the airplane increase slowly and check the brakes operation.
The tail wheel is used to control normal operations on the ground. To turn around in the
shortest distance it is necessary to use brakes. All taxi operations must be carried out under
the lowest speed to ensure non-overloading of the landing gear. Be sure, that along the
landing field are no obstacles during the taxi operation.
Taxi with the headwind
Keep the joystick pulled to the rear to ensure that the tail will be firmly on the ground and
allow for easier operating.
Taxi with the wind in flight direction
Keep the Joystick in the forward-shift position to avoid the wind making the aircraft “nose
dive" flight due the wind lifting the tail.
Taxi with the cross wind
Keep the joystick "into the wind" to hold balanced wings. The directions will be held by
correctly use of vertical rudder.
Take off
The take off methods depend on various coefficients: height and distance of the next
obstacle, kind of the wind, surface, outside temperature, maximal weight at take off. In
addition it’s necessary to note, that under the speed limit of 21.6 knots is not possible to read
airspeed indicator correctly.
Normal takes off (full loaded)
Check for airplanes in the area and on final approach and taxi to the middle of the runway,
slowly introduce the throttle to maximum. At the moment the airplane reaches sufficient
speed (approx 16 knots), lift up gently the tail. As the take off speed is reached, let the
airplane take off and help with a gentle pull backwards on the joystick normally at about 35
knots the flaps are put into first position.
Short take off
It is a kind of technique with the take-off speed just higher than the stalling speed. Extend the
flaps to the second position, taxi to the middle of runway; increase the throttle to the
maximum speed and keep the joystick rearwards, the brakes are held on. Let the brakes off,
a.s.a.p. lift up the tail and take off with approx speed of 32 knots. Help the airplane with
gentle backwards pressure on the joystick.
