Connect current consumers
The ZI-STE900IV is equipped with inverter technology. The output voltage and frequency are
kept constant so that you can power sensitive devices like notebooks etc …
You can power an AC and DC current consumer simultaneously.
With the power generator already running, switch the AC switch (4) to "On".
Connect the current consumer to the AC or DC socket respectively (Fig. 15).
Monitor the output meter (2), if it indicates "FUL", the generator is overloaded, turn it off im-
mediately (Fig. 17).
The most common cause for generator overload is:
starting current.
All current consumers have a nominal current consumption during operation. You will find that
on the type plate or in the manual. But in reality current consumer does not require constantly
the same value of electric power but there are peaks during operation and especially when
starting up. Some current consumers have a starting current requirement of up to 15 times
higher than the nominal consumption. Assure yourself and ask the manufacturer of the current
consumer you wish to power with the ZI-STE900IV power generator.
Here are some rough, unbinding benchmarks:

As you can see, this subject is extensive. Assure yourself before starting up a current con-
sumer, that its starting current does not overload the power generator massively – otherwise
you might damage the power generator. Always monitor the Output meter (2), when starting
up a connected current consumer.
Avoid to operate the power generator in idle run for longer periods of time.
