10.7 Grease distribution
CAUTION:
Damage to the motor spindle from inadequate distribution of grease
Failure to ensure that grease is distributed correctly can greatly reduce the expected life cycle of the motor
spindle!
Ö
Perform the grease-distribution procedure during initial commissioning and after every period of downtime
longer than six months.
Before commissioning, the grease distribution must be checked for operational readiness.
If the grease distribution is not ready for operation, you must carry out a grease distribution run.
The grease distribution procedure ensures optimal distribution of the lubricants in the motor spindle bearings.
11 Operation
11.1 Safety notes
DANGER:
Risk of fatal injury from failure to comply with safety regulations!
Failure to comply with safety regulations can cause a risk of fatal injury due to ejection of parts of the tool,
machine or workpiece. The motor spindle runs at a very high speed.
►
Never use the motor spindle without a tool.
►
Only use appropriate tools or units for production.
►
Follow the tool manufacturer's manual instructions.
►
Change tools or units only while the motor spindle is at a standstill.
►
Clamp the tools or units firmly and securely.
►
Never exceed the tool manufacturer's maximum specified speed.
►
Only use tools and tool holders that comply with the following properties:
•
Tool interface with a hollow taper shank in accordance with DIN 69893-6
•
Balance quality ≤ G2.5 (DIN ISO 1940)
•
A balance quality of G2.5 to G6.3 (DIN ISO 1940) will shorten the life cycle.
•
A balance quality above G6.3 (DIN ISO 1940) will shorten the life cycle significantly and must not be used!
►
Make sure that the contact surfaces between the tool and the clamping system are clean.
►
Never actuate the loosening unit while the motor spindle is rotating.
►
Never exceed the maximum programmable angular acceleration.
WARNING:
Health hazard and material damage upon actuation of the clamping set!
During machinery operation, actuation of the clamping set is prohibited.
Ö
Actuation of the clamping set is only permitted while the machine is at a standstill.
CAUTION:
Noise pollution due to the motor spindle
The following influences may increase noise pollution:
• Installations errors and tool imbalance
Ö
Vibrations and resonances will be generated.
Ö
The motor spindle may only be operated with the use of hearing protection.
Hot surfaces
During operation, the surfaces of some products may become hot.
Ö
Parts that are sensitive to temperature must not make contact with these products or be attached to them.
Ö
Touch these products only while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
