Problem

Possible cause

Possible solution

problems during start-up

Wood size is too big

use very dry small wood sticks be-
fore larger size wood

Wood is too humid

use seasoned (dry enough) wood

not  enough  draught  in  the  chim-
ney

turn all settings to maximum ope-
ning  and  check  that  the  chimney
flue is not obstructed.
check if chimney shut off damper
is fully opened

there is not enough fresh air sup-

immediately  provide  an  aeration
grid, please refer to an authorized,
specialised heating engineer.

too much draught

primary air inlet to minimum

condensation forms

chimney flue section is too large

Reduce  the  chimney  flue  section
using  thermally  insulated  pipes
(needs  to  be  done  by  specialised
heating  engineer,  such  as  for
example  a  chimney  sweeper  or
chimney installer)

chimney flue is not insulated well

line the chimney flue with insula-

professional)

combustion is too slow

open air parameters to increase fire
and temperature of outlet fumes

smoke leaks out of the stove

chimney flue is not insulated well

line the chimney flue with insula-
ting  material  (only  by  authorized
professional)

unfavourable  weather  conditions
(too strong wind)

chimney pot is not wind protected,
(re-)place it.

unfavourable  weather  conditi-
ons,  (too  little  wind,  misty/foggy
weather conditions)

this is normal, operating the stove
at these weather conditions should
be avoided.

Wood is too humid

use seasoned, dried wood

charging door seal is damaged or
worn out

have  charging  door  seal  replaced
by authorized technician

glass gets too dirty

not  enough  draught  in  the  chim-
ney

turn all settings to maximum ope-
ning  and  check  that  the  chimney
flue is not obstructed (needs to be
done  by  specialised  heating  engi-
neer,  such  as  for  example  a  chim-
ney sweeper)

Wood is too humid

use seasoned, dried wood

combustion is too slow

open air parameters to increase fire
and temperature of outlet fumes

fuel is of poor quality
