Apply thread sealant to the male threads of an
air fitting that is compatible with the air supply hose
fitting, as noted in Section 2.9.2, and
install it onto the 1-
NPT air filter located at the blast machine inlet, as
shown in Figure 5. Note that the style of connection
shown in Figure 5 is for reference only.
WARNING
If twist-on type air hose couplings are used,
they must be secured by safety pins or wires to
prevent accidental disconnection while under
pressure. Hose disconnection while under
pressure could cause serious injury.

Install an isolation valve at the air source to
enable depressurization for service, and connect a 1" ID
or larger air line from the air source to the air filter on the
blast machine. A smaller diameter hose may reduce
blasting efficiency.
