The Clarity Elite 8x8 can switch 8 component inputs
, 3 composite to component converters
to
8 component outputs
, effectively making it an 11x8 video matrix switch.
Each component path is rated at 450MHz, and is DC coupled on the inputs and outputs.
The composite inputs are fed to composite to component converters that transcode composite (or s-
video) to 480i component video. Each composite converter can be set to accept composite video on its
input 1, or input 2. Alternatively a composite to component converter can accept s-video by using a s-
video to RCA splitter cable. The ‘Y’ cable of the splitter is connected to the ‘1’ input of a converter,
and the ‘C’ cable of the splitter is connected to the ‘2’ input.
