INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Congratulations on your purchase of the ZEISS DiaScope 65/85 T* FL scope, which will
provide you with fascinating visual experiences. Thanks to an extensive range of accessories,
the ZEISS DiaScope is suited for all applications from pure observation up to use as a high-
quality camera objective lens.
As with all ZEISS products, the ZEISS DiaScope is also characterized by outstanding optical
performance, precise processing and a long service life.
For optimal use of your ZEISS DiaScope, read the following operating instructions carefully to
ensure that it is your reliable companion for many years.

Care and storage
The ZEISS DiaScope does not require special care. Do not wipe coarse dirt particles (e.g. sand)
from the lens, but rather blow away or remove these with a hair brush. After some time,
fingerprints can attack the surface. The simplest method for cleaning an optical surface is to
breathe on it and softly rub with a clean optical cleaning cloth.
Dry storage and good ventilation help to prevent the possible formation of mould film on the
optics, especially in tropical climates.
The carrying case available as an accessory is especially suitable for safe storage and
transportation.
Safety instructions

Caution: Never look into the sun or in laser light sources with the ZEISS DiaScope. This can
lead to serious eye injury.
●
Do not leave the product in the sun for extended periods unless using a protective cap or a
case. The objective lens and eyepiece can function as a burning glass and damage the interior
components.
Attaching and removing the eyepiece
Remove the bayonet cap from the eyepiece and scope. To attach the eyepiece, the white dot on
the eyepiece
(H) must line up with the black arrow in the rubber armouring (I) . Then insert the
eyepiece and turn to the right (clockwise) until it stops.
To remove the eyepiece, press the release button
(L) and at the same time turn the eyepiece to
the left (counter clockwise) until it stops. The eyepiece can now be removed with a slight tug.
Note:
An older model of the ZEISS DiaScope eyepiece can also be attached to the ZEISS DiaScope
scope. However, the locking function is not possible in this case.
Models with locking function can be recognized by the order number of the eyepiece and a D in
the product designation.

Tripod mounting
Due to the large magnification, observation without a tripod is not recommended. The tripod foot
of the ZEISS DiaScope
(F) has

˝ and ¼˝ threads (via installed threaded insert) with which the
ZEISS DiaScope can be mounted on all commercially available tripods.
The tripod ring
(C) on your ZEISS DiaScope facilitates the turning of the scope around the
longitudinal axis, so that you can change the sight direction (with inclined view) if necessary.
To do this loosen the clamping screw
(K) on the tripod holder (turn counter clockwise) and then
turn the scope in the desired direction. An optimal clamping is achieved in the locking positions,
which are located every 45°.
