USB Type C Jack
The USB-C jack J7 is primarily intended for software loading during manufacturing or recovery. It is also
available for general use, although there is limited software support.
3.3
Presets Clear Switch, SW1
SW1 is a momentary switch intended to be used to reset the presets to factory defaults. Pressing SW1 during
the power on sequence causes the CPU to boot from the USB bus. This feature is used for software recovery
and initial software loading at the factory.
3.4
Status LED
This is a bi-color LED used to convey encoder status. Please refer to the encoder’s user’s guide.
3.5
DC Power Jack
J9 is a threaded jack used to feed power to the encoder and any cameras connected via KEL cable to the 30-
0103 board. The jack is a PJ-065A from CUI.
3.6
Serial Console Port
The serial console port connects to a RS232 terminal to provide access to debug information. It can also be
configured as a user serial port. It is driven by the UART at QUP12.
The connector at J6 is a standard 2.5mm circular stereo audio jack, with the tip assigned to RXD, ring
assigned to TXD and the sleeve connected to ground. Use a standard 2.5mm stereo audio plug to connect. Z3
provides a 2.5mm to DB9 cable with the encoder system.

Ethernet RJ45 Port
This is a standard Ethernet jack with 10/100/1000 Ethernet support.
3.8
Composite Video Input
The composite video input RCA jack takes one channel of NTSC or PAL video to the 30-0103 interface board.
This is a standard video input, terminated internally by 75Ω, which expects video at 1Vpp level.
This connector can also be used as the genlock input for a block camera which accepts genlock
such as the
Sony FCB-ER8550.

Genlock Indication
This LED indicates that a genlock-capable camera is correctly locked to a video source connected to the
composite video input jack J8.
