WEATHER COVERS.
The design of the weather covers are different for each fascia style.
GUNMETAL BLACK FASCIA -
WEATHER COVER and HOOD
A stainless steel
hood
secures the
weather cover
in place for the
Gunmetal Black
Outdoor fire. By
the nature of fireplace installation
each install is different for the
location of this hood.
The Hood is to be on the centreline
of the fire and
Dimension A
is to be
no more than 100mm, and no less
than 50mm.
Hood Dimensions: H 60mm x W 1200mm x D 60mm
Weather Cover Dimensions: H 750mm x W 1125mm x D 40mm
INSTALLATION AND PLACEMENT OF HOOD
1. Draw a light pencil line to the appropriate level plane and centreline placement of
the hood above the fascia panel.
2. Locate the 3 securing screw location points and drill and prepare for screws-
(preferably a round head screw to be used) – attach screws and allow for later
placement of the hood and tightening once hood is in place.
3. Lay a squiggled line of mastic or silicone type sealant on the surface the hood is to
be attached to – repeat the same on the rear of the SS hood. Allow sealant to go
tacky before attaching hood.
4.
Attach hood by slipping over the 3 prepared screws and dropping downwards into
place.
5.
Tighten screws – check alignment and level of hood.
STAINLESS STEEL FASCIA
WEATHER COVER & Gutter Strip
A gutter strip is fitted to run any water
away from the unit. It will not be visible
once it is installed.
Note:
Silicone sealant is to be used on
the faces of the weather cover that
contact the cavity lintel. Screws are to
be used to hold the gutter strip in place
and ensure a tight seal.
Remove the cover by tilting it forward at the
base and unhooking it from the fascia.
STAINLESS STEEL FASCIAS and WEATHER COVERS
are shipped with protective
plastic in place to reduce the risk of damage in transit. Remove this plastic immediately
before fitting the fascia to the fire.
Do not use abrasive cloths or cleaners on stainless steel fascias. Use only specialised
Stainless Steel cleaners available from your local hardware store.
