HARDWARE
Step 10
•
Fit the 2 BANANA sockets. These fit into the 2 holes marked on the illustration as
LOOP.
•
Note: The BANANA sockets are fitted with the plastic part of the socket passing
through the printed circuit board, and are held in place by a washer and two nuts.
The solder posts on these sockets have tags. These are similar to washers and
may be optionally used to solder the posts directly to the two tracks on the board.
You may prefer to use the wire that is supplied to do this.
•
Fit the RCA RF signal socket. This fits into the hole on the bottom left of the
board (the other side to the LED).
•
Note: The RCA sockets pass through the printed circuit board with the ground
side of the socket's thread facing the copper ground plane. A ground solder tag is
supplied which should be placed against the ground plane. The nut is then
tightened up against the copper side of the board. Hold the RCA socket on the
DECAL side using pliers. Be careful not to damage the RCA socket using too
much force.
•
Fit The 2.1mm Power Jack socket.
•
Note: This is a high quality chrome-plated socket. The ground side of this socket
must also connect to the ground plane on the printed circuit board. When
tightening the large nut against the ground plane, be careful to leave the nut in a
position that does not touch the power rail. The nut must only touch the ground
plane.
