3.2
Configuration Backup to ACA
The configuration backup procedure using an ACA is described as below.
1) Clear the ACA device.
Connect the ACA to a computer. Delete all files in the ACA by file operation on the computer.
Save the files which will be reused before deleting.
2) Disconnect the ACA from the computer after conducting the common USB device removal
procedure.
3) Connect the empty ACA to the USB port of the Managed Switch.
4) Execute “copy system:running-config nvram:startup-config” command.
(See section 4.3.5 for the copy command)
5) Disconnect the ACA from the Managed Switch, after the copy command is finished and a
prompt is displayed.
6) Confirm if a new “switch.cfg” file is created in the ACA.
Save the “switch.cfg” file to the computer for backup.
3.3
Restore configuration from ACA
The procedure to restore the configuration from an ACA is described as below.
1) Clear the ACA device.
Connect the ACA to a computer. Delete all files in the ACA by file operation on the computer.
Save the files which will be reused before deleting.
2) Copy the saved backup file in the computer or a recording media to a root folder of the ACA.
3) Disconnect the ACA from the computer after the USB device is safely removed.
4) Connect the ACA with the backup file to the USB port of the Managed Switch during power
off.
5) In case the Managed Switch is powered on when the ACA is connected, it boots up with the
configuration file in the ACA and updates the “startup-config” in NVRAM automatically.
6) Disconnect the ACA from the Managed Switch after booting up.
7) Confirm the restoration result after rebooting without the ACA.
