4TNE98 Engine

1.

Lubricate No. 1 piston and piston rings.

Using the piston insertion tool (piston ring

compressor), compress the piston rings on the
No.1 piston.

Carefully install the piston into No.1 cylinder. Be

sure the punched mark on the connecting rod is
facing the fuel injector side and the embossed
mark on the connecting rod is facing the flywheel.

. Tighten the connecting rod bolts

to the specified torque.
