• brake shoe wear indicator

a. Align the projection on the brake shoe wear

indicator with the notch in the brake cam-
shaft. 

b. Install the brake camshaft so its punch mark

 is positioned as shown. 

c. Check that the brake shoes are properly

positioned.

• speedometer drive gear 
• bushing

INSTALLING THE FRONT WHEEL
1. Lubricate: 

• wheel axle 
• wheel bearings 
• oil seal lips 
• speedometer drive gear

Recommended lubricant 

Lithium soap base grease

2. Install: 

• brake shoe plate 

1

Align the tabs on the wheel hub with the slit
between the speedometer drive gear and
the bushing.

3. Install: 

• collar

1

4. Install: 

• front wheel

NOTE:

Make sure the slot in the brake shoe plate fits
over the stopper on the outer tube.
